LONDON'S BRIDGE ASCENDANT London’s Millennium Bridge reopened on February 22, 2002, with its designer, Lord Foster, in attendance, but without its original, notorious wobble. Described by Foster as a "blade of light," the Millennium Bridge was closed just two days after it first opened in June, 2000, because it shimmied and shook uncomfortably.

NEW HUB, NO HUBCAPS The Edward H. McNamara Terminal in Detroit, Michigan opened to passengers on February 24th. This major new terminal, for Northwest Airlines' largest hub, is designed to reposition Wayne County's Detroit Metropolitan Airport as a world-class facility, with architecture demonstrating the latest in passenger amenities.
