    Question

    The Kansai International Airport, completed 1994, built on an artificial island in the Bay of Osaka, Japan, was reputed to be the longest building ever built. Who was the architect? How long is the terminal?

    Answer

    The one-mile- (1.7 kilometer-) long terminal was designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop, Paris with Arup as structural engineer.
