Question
If you specified an uncoated steel material to be 18 gauge, how thick in inches or millimeters would it be? How thick in inches or millimeters for 22 gauge?
Answer
Eighteen gauge is 0.0478 inches nominal (1.214 millimeters), or about 1/16 inches. Twenty-two gauge is 0.0299 inches nominal (0.759 millimeters), or about 1/32 inches.
