Each year, Faith & Form magazine and the Interfaith Forum on Religion, Art, & Architecture recognize outstanding design in completed projects through the Religious Art & Architecture Awards program.
This year's winners, marking the start of the new millennium, reflect the wealth of activity in the design and construction of sacred spaces throughout the United States for faith traditions well established in this country, as well as those just getting a foothold.
GE LIGHTING AWARDS 2001
The annual GE Edison Award Competition celebrates the importance of light in architecture by acclaiming outstanding achievements in lighting design. At a gala reception in Las Vegas in May, 2001, this year's awards recognized an international roster of excellence.
The highest honor, the GE Edison Award, went to George Sexton Associates for a simple yet striking lighting design for the Herz Jesu Kirche (Heart of Jesus Church) in Munich, Germany.
