    Postcard from Frankfurt

    Dear ArchitectureWeek,

This building is a real antidote to a dark, drizzly day. I've been wanting to visit some buildings by Gunter Behnisch for some time, and I'm very pleased to have seen this one — the German postal museum.

It is in the democratic spirit of all of Behnisch's architecture: light, open, transparent, and beautifully detailed.

And what a wonderful idea for a museum ... filled with letterboxes, and stamps, and pictures of post offices, and railroad cars in which letter sorting takes place.

Put it on your list for your next trip to Germany.

    On the road in Frankfurt,

    Howard Davis
