Quizzical Pursuit - The Architecture Puzzler

    by Dave Guadagni

    Answer for Last Week's Puzzler

Tokyo sits on the confluence of three faults. How often do they have measurable earthquakes? About how often does the earth experience a magnitude 7 earthquake? Magnitude 8?

    Answer:

Tokyo experiences about two earthquakes per day. Somewhere on the planet a magnitude 7 earthquake occurs weekly and a magnitude 8 quake occurs annually.
