The 3-inch thick entry door, made by the carpenters from ancient oak, weighs hundreds of pounds.
The front elevation of the house fits into its context on a quiet street in the Mexican city of San Miguel de Allende.
The deep-blue patio wall slides into the entry to provide a calm background to the sinuously snaking stairway.
