    PEDIATRIC RESEARCH LAB

    The Children's Research Institute, designed by Flad & Associates recently opened in Tampa, Florida. We'll take a closer look at this $12 million, state-of-the-art facility, which provides biomedical laboratories for the advancement of pediatric research. The building is a product of a collaboration by All Children's Hospital, the University of South Florida, the City of St. Petersburg, and a state-funded matching program.

    IN SEARCH OF GREEN DESIGN TOOLS

    How do design professionals incorporate "green building" design considerations in their 2D and 3D CAD practices? In an Architecture Week exclusive, the energy research consultancy GeoPraxis, Inc. will present results of their new Design Methods Survey. Over 400 building design professionals, from 32 countries were asked about their use of, and satisfaction with, CAD tools. The survey will provide guidance in configuring new CAD-linked energy analysis software tools.
