HISTORIC LIBRARY REOPENS
In the historic city of Savannah, Georgia, the Bull Street Main Library has reopened after renovation and expansion by New York architects Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer Associates and the Savannah firm of Cogdell & Mendrala Architects. The historic spaces have been revived with new architectural finishes appropriate to its early 20th century origins.

The next installment in this six-part series showcases an innovative tool for space planning developed by Scott Arvin at Texas A&M University. If Arvin's dissertation becomes a commercial design tool in the future, architects will enjoy an exciting new technique for conceptual design.

Speakers at the Architects Technology Summit in Philadelphia earlier this month exhorted professionals to exploit new opportunities afforded by Internet technologies. Among those presenting were futurist and author Frank Feather and the Honorable Richard Swett, who is an architect, former New Hampshire congressman, and current U.S. Ambassador to Denmark.
